Silence - Delirium feat Sarah Mclahlan

It's that time of the semester again. It's kinda like PMS- it has it's series of "symptoms" that occur everytime this time of the semester comes around...

SYMPTOM #1
Hideousness.

Note: I will deem myself to be superficial because this was the first. Judge me if you must, but I speak on behalf of all of us - you prioritize this too!

1. My hair becomes HELL messy, (and because it's layered it has a mind of it's own and it curls at    random areas and puffs at other places)

2. I get the biggest eye bags due to lack of sleep - sometimes it even gets a little reddish. I swear it looks like I'm stoned..

3. I could not be bothered to put on eye liner, or nice clothes - Instead I walk around with trackies and swim in a BIG jumper

Verdict?
I have turned hideous.
I think I even scare away animals. I feel like telling everyone to just LOOK AWAY.
DON'T LOOK MY WAYYY NOOOOOOOOO!! :(
And I also find that the people I would LAST want to see would be around - ie: all the cute boys?! HELLO!?!
Explains why I'm single.

SYMPTOM #2
Crankiness.

I have officially turned into a massive FUCK-OFF sign. In blinking Sparkly lights.
I've even named myself grumpy pants.
The smallest things piss me off. Like, when I say small, I mean miniscule things.
So, to prevent people from labelling me the "massive bitch" I try and avoid any human contact - pending till exams are over when I'm a happy camper all over again. :)

SYMPTOM #3
Depression.

I wake up in the morning feeling like....P Diddy. And ultimately Clubbing.
Every upbeat song makes me... depressed. Because it's screaming my name.... until I look around and notice that the environment I have surrounded myself with revolves around smelly library books, corpus amounts of Kit Kat Chunky, and thick Law Books.

It's ok, Thursday I am free and I am allowed to do as I please. BIG  toothy GRIN :D

SYMPTOM #4
Health deterioration

So cutting aside the usual health 'symptoms' one would suffer when studying for exams, such as stress, tiredness, and whatever that comes with eating junk food that would ultimately lead to diabetes, heart attacks etc..

Instead, adding on to all of this, my eyes twitch at random times. Like, what the fuck.

SYMPTOM #5
Clean room

Ok, this is clearly a positive 'symptom'. But my procrastination has allowed me to be the cleanest I have ever been, my room has become spotless and my laundry is all nicely done AND I have separated my clothes in to separate categories, folded and all..

:)

Wish me luck!

Floor - Jars of Clay

The best girls in Uni. It was loveatfirstsight. <3

My Beautiful Family. I'll be reunited with them in Sydney (again, for the 3rd time this year- no complaints there) this Thursday to watch my Gorgeous sister graduate!

I took a look at my old blog (the one I blocked everyone from seeing) and I realised I have forgotten about how I used to love to just rant on my blog about the most random things - and how I would deliberately make life for myself interesting and pick up on the most insignificant things and completely exaggerate on it just so that 'I would interest my readers'.

As I grew older my writing style progressively changed. I no longer take note of the many insignificant details to blow out of proportion, although I must say I am having the best years of my life at Uni.
I would go on and on about the different things I encounter everyday but that would take up too much time and would probably bore you to death.
I guess all I can do is capture my memories with photo's and hope that I will remember the stories behind them.

On that note:

Loving the randomness of this picture.

COUNTDOWN to Kuala Lumpur: 22 days

Crash and Burn - Savage Garden

Big shout-out to my awesome possum friends who have stalked me down (I am a pretty big deal) and found my secret blog:
Melanie Mcguire & Kristy Merganovski.

Fuck, now I can't bitch about them here anymore.. :)

I'm going to try and make this post as organised as possible.
1) First and foremost, a BIGBIG congratulations to my JulieCurlyFries (hah, it's been ages since we've called you this) due to her outstanding A Levels results. I knew you could, love <3

2) So this mass email has been going around amongst the Sri Amanians. It's interesting because everyone replies by saying something without saying anything at all.. I guess it gets that way, when everyone drifts apart to different countries. However, good effort and hopefully I am able to meet up with most of you (them) when I go home for 2 weeks in April.

3) ELENA BANANA IS FINALLY COMING HOOOOOME :)

4) I am currently so very unambitious when I sit and compare myself to everyone else around me.
Goddamn I don't even have a Boyfriend to blame this on.
I'm surrounded by such influential people it is not funny - from those who love to play the guitar, to the drums, or DJ-ing as a hobby - to even running in the evening as a form of calming themselves.
I have no hobbies/aspirations whatsoever. All I do is eat, sleep, watch Boston Legal, do my Tutorial work, go out and get drunk...... yay.
SO I've decided. One thing I am passionate about is Charity work. Always have been keen on these sort of things - so I'm going to look up activities I can do around here, just to start off small.
I even made my mom make sure this motivation of mine did not die off. heh.

5) I am procrastinating. My nails need to get cut suddenly..

6) I am very disappointed at my lack of pictures this Semester. I think we've done way more this semester than the rest (or just about the same?) and yet I have no proof - for future recollection of course.

7) Nearly all of my assessments are done. That only means one thing - exams are near and I am going to get my nerd onnnnnnn.

When it rains - Paramore

My blog is dead. I apologise, to my very few but faithful readers nonetheless - I have not had either the energy or motivation to keep this thing updated.

However, this blog of mine was made to be a medium of expression - so off I go with my rant.
I have battled one of the most hectic weeks of my life.

I shall not go in to detail with the tests I have been put through when push drastically came to shove. I will however, express the things I have learnt. There have been so many eye-opening moments that I would like to remember and look back on - if ever I come across something like this again.

I know the way in which I am writing this might come across as overtly dramatic or whatever - well fuck you. Just because I have a hard exterior and on the outside everything is rainbows and butterflies, deep down I do have a heart that is more vulnerable than I would like to admit.

My grandfather, 87 years of age, passed away on the 3rd of February 2010. And admits the vivid details of the emotional chaos, this is what I have learnt.

Let me just start off by mentioning that it is hard to describe a man like a grandfather and the impact he has made on not just hundreds - but thousands of people. It's hard to fathom why that is so - knowing that he is the most simple man I have ever come across. He was a man of routine. A man of traditions. And he was kind - to the core. A kindness I have never come across. Kid you not, he was always looking out for others before himself. He was able to get along with every generation in the family - from being the favourite amongst his siblings, to being the best dad, to being the best grandfather. And I express this with no exaggeration.

He was a man with one of the best sense of humors. At the age of 87, he was still cracking jokes being as jovial as he has always been.

And simple? Let's just put it this way - I think he's the only one (on this planet) who still uses a film camera! Why? Not because he was incapable of learning - he just refused to. He liked his film camera, and he stuck to it. That kind of devotion was not only found in the items he was used to, but the living things that surrounded him. Like for instance, his last meal was Tou Foo Fa (Sp?). One of his favourite things to eat.

And don't get me started on the things he has achieved in his lifetime. From being the first ever Malaysian to get a scholarship to study abroad (Adelaide), where he had to depart from his family by ship to further his education to be the best urologist he could be. In fact, till this age, he still worked. He still had patients. The list of achievements go on, and yet - he remained humble as ever.
Compassionate. He would avoid killing an ant if it meant walking a harder footpath. And wise. To be frank, every personal matter that he has advised me on, I had faith in. And I cannot say this about many people. In fact, he was the only person I would listen to especially growing up as a teenager. Because that is how much I have always respected him, and his opinions that come with.

The love of his life, his soulmate - my grandmother - how can I describe a love like that? Impossible. They had been married for 56 years. I can see why a man like him would love a woman like my grandmother.

This journey for her especially has been the hardest and yet she has been able to hold herself and keep her head high through all of this. She is definitely the tower of strength, one of the most influential women in my life. Today, when my sisters and cousin and I spent time with her, we managed to learn more about my grandfather and the history they had together.

Hearing this, being overseas was not easy. I will admit that. But this tragedy has only brought my family closer together. the 4 people in my generation flew from different areas of Australia and centralised in Sydney, and we all together flew down to Malaysia.

Friday afternoon was spent in P.D, one of my grandfathers favourite places to visit, where we threw his ashes in to the sea.

Friday night, my whole family - all 15 of us decided to have a nice dinner, where we exchanged stories, exchanged memories, updated each other - and we laughed. Laughed so much.

It was such an eye opener - we are so so blessed we were brought up in a family as close as mine. :)

While this has been hard on all of us, it took some time for us to realise that in his 87 years of living, he had only suffered for 17 days. And that is more than we could hope for, for someone we love.

In memory of my grandfather, the tradition of Sunday Lunches (a weekly event where the family sets aside time to meet up) will be carried on for the generations to come in no.8.

My family @ Sunday lunch.

In loving memory of Dato' Sreenevasan.

Fireflies - Owl City

Nope. Not me.
I won't (be one of the many bagazillion people to) write about New Years, about how it brings about new hope, new bittersweet memories, all of which we wish we could have control over, about how new resolutions are made to correct the mistakes we (or other people) have made in the past..

Ok, I so totally contradicted myself. That introduction, made this post compatible to fit in to the category of "cliche New Year posts".

Aw Fuck (Resolution #1: swear less). Oh well, A+ for my effort, right?

Again, no I am so not going to write a proper list of Resolutions. Why? It is an absolute waste. In my eyes, at lest. Even if I did write one, it's not like I'm going to stick to it.

Do you want to know why I think making resolutions are silly? Well even if you don't care, that's too bad because I'm going to write it down anyway. Starting from here* (for those who want to skip my explanation)

OK well firstly, why build yourself up for disappointment? We have all these awesomely ambitious aspirations we totally build ourselves up to believe we could achieve, one admirable quality indeed, but I'm pretty sure proper statistics could prove that only a minority number of people would actually reach these goals. Which also means that the majority of people would be left.. to wallow in their disappointment.

Secondly, why start the new year with all this pressure? Take a chill pill and relax, man. You know what they all say... whatever you do on the day of New Years will be what you'll be doing for the rest of the year!

And lastly, though I admit this is a poor argument but one that should be brought forward nonetheless, and since I too have become more environmental friendly (I dump all my rubbish papers in to a bag till it's full and recycle it ok! I also rarely use plastic bags when I buy my groceries - but totally besides the point and super hilang plot) it's a damn waste of paper. Waste of time + waste of effort = waste of energy and you know how energy can't be created which means we would be using up the energy from the environment, transferring it to the use of something that benefits NO ONE.
*end

Anyway, my new years was.. interesting. ;)

We're 20 THIS YEAR YA'LL ZOMG SO OLD DUDE 2 DECADES MAN WHOAHAHA.
